News: Spotlight on M&O Intern, MPH Practicum Student from Emory University

Donielle has been a practicum student with Mothers & Others for Clean Air (M&O) since January 2015. She is currently completing her Master of Public Health degree from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.

Donielle has been helping with M&O’s efforts to engage health professionals as advocates for climate change and air pollution mitigation. While attending events around the metro Atlanta area as a representative of M&O, she has recruited dozens of new M&O supporters. Donielle has helped create outreach plans for areas beyond metro Atlanta, including Macon and Columbus. She also worked to recruit health professionals to join a national campaign to lower the ozone pollution standard to a safer level. In turn, Donielle has been mentored by M&O Field Organizer Hilary Merlin, a veteran public health professional.

In addition to being a volunteer and student, Donielle works fulltime as a research specialist and supervisor at the National Institutes of Health Tetramer Core Facility (TCF) at Emory University. Donielle is  resourceful, eager to step up to challenges and confident when interacting with the public. Thank you, Donielle for all of your efforts!
